This class is for those who do not understand solar but are ready to learn. In this live, interactive session licensed electrician Joe Felz you will learn everything needed to configure and design your first solar system. You will be given free access to online tools to check the electrical compatibility of solar components and create a professional wiring diagram for your solar array. Improper design is the most common reason for solar system disfunction: a system will never work if it is designed wrong, so this is vital information.
Completion of this course makes you eligible to apply for in person solar installation training with Joe in Costa Rica.

- What electricity is and the different forms used in solar systems.
- How to calculate the size, storage and output of a solar array.
- The 5 simple rules that form the basis solar energy and how to use them.
- How to decipher the confusing terminology on electrical equipment that describes how it functions.
- Explanation of series vs parallel solar panel wiring.
- Explanation of the components of a solar system and their synergistic function.
- How to use FelzCalc to check electrical compatibility and produce a wiring diagram
- Common mistakes to avoid when designing a solar system.
- Discussion of solar products and installation.
- Open Q&A at the end for anyone with questions.
Session usually last around an hour but will continue until everyone understands the information. After you finish this course you will be able to size, configure and design a solar system on your own. If for some reason it still doesn’t click, you will be granted free entry into the next session. A recording of the session will be available to all attendees once we are done so you can go back and review if needed.
